Give back to Society….

Brain drain… heard about that? Yeah it’s true… it happened, happening and will happen in India

With the results out and girls (as usual) topping the chart and aiming for next course or college… sometimes I feel this mad rush is too much and end of the day all those bright young minds are not going to stay back in India and give back something to society…It make me feels sad L

Every student has his own aspiration & dream and I’m not the one to stop that… but at the same time, we need to think about India as well… Its heart whelming to see all the big firms not only opening up their offices in India (most of them for the cost factor) but also their R & D center to make better technology and Innovation…

I have a suggestion to bring more Innovation back to India and address the Brain drain…

Heard about the mandatory service period for all graduate students in Europe??? Yes they have to work in Military or Air force or Navy for a stipulated time period before they decide on their future course… this makes their country safe as well as the people understand about their forces and respect them. Also they have a choice to stay back…

Let’s change the above one a little bit to address the Indian brain drain… Lets ask all the students to sign up for a mandatory work in any company based out of India for an year after graduation and before they decide to move out (of India) for further education or work… I sincerely think this will help India tremendously.

Some random thoughts to bring in this change….

  1. All the companies, be in private or public need to accumulate a percentage fund (I would suggest a percentage of Provident Fund from every employee need to be collected for the India’s future. I’m sure many of them will accept this wholeheartedly… the money will actually end up for their own children…) to accept and educate a minimum size of fresh graduates into work culture… particularly in Research and Development wing… this will help the student to understand the work life and also it will help the company to achieve something different from their normal routine profit making business…
    1. For example: Think of a fresh graduate team working on a pilot project in a technology company with the guidance from an experienced person…it can make wonders… and also the next batch of students can keep continuing on the same work with some students staying back on the project may be with a different mentor! (I’m expecting at least some crowd to stay back. Also the employees of the organization can volunteer for mentoring the students so that the fresh energy is pumped in every year J)
  2. The educational institutions need to have a tie up with different companies so that they can place the students in those companies after the education which will bring down the unemployment problem to a certain extent.
  3. The salary for the students during the Internship program will be decided by the government since the spending is happening from the Provident Fund amount. This will make the student's mind free from salary comparisons, 'coz the salary remains the same for every student for a year!
  4. Also the students can choose to stay back and there shouldn’t be any binding factor from the company.

Brickbats or Bouquets are welcome J
